Three goals and a convincing win for CSKA 1948 II against Neftohimik in Apostolov's debut

CSKA 1948 II recorded its first victory in the Second League. The young Bulgarian team of Atanas Apostolov won with 3:1 over Neftohimik on st. "Bistritsa" in the capital.

The goals in the 2nd round of the championship were scored by Dimitar Iliev, Alexander Georgiev and Denislav Alexandrov. Accurate for the guests was Minchev. The match was an official debut for the new head coach Apostolov.

In the first minutes The Reds failed to create a clean scoring chance, as Dimitar Videv tried his luck from a free kick.

In the 10th minute, a good opportunity opened up for Videv in the penalty area. However, the ball came too far for the winger, who failed to capitalise. In the 17th minute, CSKA's captain Denislav Aleksandrov fired dangerously from long range, and the ball passed close to the right post of Neftohimik's keeper Orlinov. In the 23rd minute Alexandrov again was close to scoring after a diagonal shot on the ground to the far corner.

Until the end of the first half, Atanas Apostolov's squad continued to dominate and eventually materialized their efforts. In the 27th minute Ivaylo Klimentov brought Dimitar Iliev to a shooting position. The left back scored with a measured shot for 1:0. It was also the first goal for Iliev in an official match with the red jersey. In the 39th minute, defender Aleksandar Georgiev also scored his debut goal for CSKA with a left-footed shot from mid-range.

With a comfortable lead at the break, The Reds seemed to relax an idea in the second half and Neftohimik logically tried to get back into the game. Minchev scored for 2:1 after a corner kick, and the momentum was felt in the game of the Burgas players.

Gradually, however, CSKA again began to possess the ball more permanently and to create serious scoring opportunities, with the best chance opening up for Steven Kirilov, who after a pass from Klimentov failed to score one on one against goalkeeper Orlinov.

In the 90th minute Denislav Aleksandrov scored for the final 3:1 from close range after a nice assist by Dimitar Iliev.

In their next match of the Second League CSKA 1948 II is going to visit Strumska Slava. The game is on Wednesday (4 August) at 18:00 at the City Stadium in Radomir.
