The goal show between CSKA and Botev (Plovdiv) ended with a draw
CSKA recorded a 2: 2 draw against Botev (Plovdiv) in a match of the 23rd round of the efbet League, played in sub-zero temperatures at Vitosha Stadium.
The goals for The Reds were scored by Aleksandar Kolev in the first half and Galin Ivanov in the second half. Baroan scored two goals for the away team. Georgi Rusev shone with two great assists in the game.
Right before the first referee's signal, to the applause of the audience, the executive director of CSKA Dobrin Gionov handed Botev (Plovdiv) procurator Asen Karaslavov a congratulatory address and a specially prepared jersey on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the legendary Bulgarian club.
In the first minutes of the match, both teams had a hard time organizing multi-pass combinations and could not find the right path to both nets.
In the 21st minute came the first serious situation in the match, which led to a goal. Georgi Rusev received a ball on the right wing, dribbled and waited for the striker Aleksandar Kolev, who came behind him. A pass to the forward followed and a momentary shoot in the near corner. The ball turned out to be difficult for the goalkeeper Argilashki and flew into the net for 1:0 for CSKA. This was the third goal for our number nine after four games so far in the efbet League.
A little later, Dimitar Pirgov tested Argilashki's reflex, but this time the goalkeeper was on place. By the end of the half, Rusev had a chance, but his shot was blocked by a defender. Botev responded with a powerful shot from Baroan, impressively saved with one hand by CSKA captain Daniel Naumov.
Four minutes after the start of the second half, Baroan this time was accurate for 1:1. In the 64th minute he scored again for the guests for 2:1.
By the end of the match Nikolay Kirov tried to bring fresh legs from the bench, bringing in Martin Toshev, Ivaylo Klimentov and Mario Topuzov. After a strong first half and a drop in the first 20 minutes of the second half, The Reds began to look more aggressively for a new goal and it came five minutes before the end of the clash.
Georgi Rusev found Galin Ivanov with a superb pass over Botev's defense, and the experienced winger only had to overcome Argilashki, doing it with a precise shot in the lower right corner of the goalkeeper for 2:2.
Thus, CSKA and Botev shared a point in the intriguing match at Vitosha Stadium. On Saturday (19.03) The Reds will visit Beroe in Stara Zagora in a game of the 24th round of the efbet League, followed by a break for the matches of the national teams.
